A huge egg of an African ostrich has enriched the collection of the Orlovskoye Polesye national park. Several years ago, several ostriches (this bird is the biggest in the world) were brought to the reserve. After a period of time, the females started to lay eggs. However, unfortunately, baby birds have never hatched. Even placing the eggs in an incubator did not help. The workers of the reserve were not be satisfied with such results and decided to patch the eggs up. As a result, it was found out that the 1,5-kilogram ostrich eggs were not fertilized; there were no cells.
Nevertheless, one of the eggs was put on display. The most curious visitors of the reserve, especially children, are allowed to touch the egg.
