Alexander Veshnyakov, head of the Russian Central Election Commission, will observe preparation for the second round of governor elections to be held in the Altai region of Russia on January 6. Competitors in the second round will be Mikhail Lapshin, leader of the Agrarian Party of Russia, and incumbent head of the region Semyon Zubakin. Elections will be announced valid in the event no less than 50 per cent of voters turn out for the elections.
