Arbitration Court To Hear Suit Against TV-6 Chief Today

Today the Moscow Arbitration Court is to consider a suit filed by the non-government pension fund LUKoil-Garant, which insists on suspending Yevgeny Kiselyov from the post of the TV-6 general director. The fund is one of the shareholders in JSC Moscow Independent Broadcasting Corporation (MNVK) that operates on the TV-6 channel. LUKoil-Garant asks the court to void the decision of the MNVK extraordinary shareholders' meeting of May 14 where Kiselyov was elected the head of TV-6. In the opinion of the fund, this decision was made with the violation of the MNVK Articles of Association and legislation on joint-stock companies. LUKoil-Garant filed the suit in June of 2001. Its consideration was postponed until the finalization of a related litigation. Now the court resumed the hearing of the suit aimed at sidelining Kiselyov.
