Import Duties On Foreign-made Cars Planned To Be Raised Only On Vehicles More Than 7 Years Old

The government commission on protective measures in foreign trade and on customs tariff policy, meeting on Friday, decided to recommend the government to raise import duties only on cars more than seven years old, the first deputy minister of industry, science and technologies told journalists. Andrei Svinarenko said that the duty will as before be 25 per cent, but the "euro-component" of the tariff will be raised and, depending on engine displacement, be between 1.4 to 3.2 euros per cubic centimetre.
