Inventive Dutch lover in trouble
On Christmas Eve, the 60-year-old Romeo telephoned his wife and in a terrified voice told her that he had been kidnapped, before falling back into the arms of his lover. What followed was a frantic week of sleepless nights for his wife, and busy days for the already overstretched resources of the police force.
His marriage in ruins, the Lying Dutchman now faces a civil action from the police, for false communication and wasting police resources and possibly criminal charges.
