Every 20th Muscovite Has Endocrinological Ailment

Every 20th Muscovite has an endocrinological ailment, said Moscow's chief endocrinologist Mikhail Antsiferov at a session of the Moscow government on Tuesday. And every year this figure increases by four to five percent, he added. The most wide-spread diseases of the endocrinological system in Moscow are diabetes and thyroid gland ailments. The Moscow health service has 340 endocrinologists. This number is dismally small and steps are being taken. The short supply of such specialists can be remedied in only six to seven years to come.
