Russian Dzhabrail Dzhabrailov Returns to Professional Boxing

Russian Dzhabrail Dzhabrailov is returning to professional boxing. On February 28th, for the first time after a year-long interval, Dzhabrail Dzhabrailov will appear on the ring of the Olimpiisky sports complex in Moscow. The name of his future opponent is yet unknown.

Dzhabrailov was stripped of the title of an intercontinental world champion since a convicted boxer cannot have the supreme title according to the World Boxing Council (WBC) regulations.

It is an open secret that last spring this strongest Russian professional boxer was found guilty for illegal purchase, storage and carrying of firearms and sentenced to three years of imprisonment. (Dzhabrailov was arrested in December 2001 near the All-Russia Exhibition Centre in Moscow for having a Makarov pistol on him.) During this forced halt in his career, Dzhabrailov lost weight and now belongs to a different weight category (76.2 kg against the previous 79.4 kg).
