Diana Vishneva, Mariinsky Theatre's Solo Dancer, Named Best in Europe in 2002

Diana Vishneva, a solo dancer of the Mariinsky Theatre's ballet troupe, has been named the best in Europe in 2002. According to the theater's press centre, last year, Diana made brilliant tours in New York, N.Y, Mexico City, and danced at the Second International Mariinsky Ballet Festival with Manuel Legris, Rudolf Nureyev's student as her partner.

Diana Wisneva, a native of St. Petersburg, Russia, is a graduate of the Russian Ballet Academy. She has been a soloist with the Mariinsky Theatre since 1996. The Dancer of the Year award was established in 200 by the Dance Europe magazine.
