Malaysian University students to study Russian Culture of Arts

The directorship of the largest Malaysian University "Malaya" has decided to introduce to the curriculum a new course "Russian Culture of Arts".

The absolutely new for the Malaysian University course will start already in the current academic year and for a time being will last a term only in the form of lectures and practical studies.

The program of the "Russian Culture of Arts" studying course includes a short introduction to the Russian history of culture, lectures on literature, poetry, music and folk musical instruments, cinema, theatre, education, as well as on Russian everyday life and folklore.

Most of the lectures will be delivered by famous in Malaysia teacher of the Russian language and literature, translator of classical prose and poetry on the Malay language Viktor Pogodayev. Former Malaysian students of Russian Universities will be his assistants.

Theory classes will be mixed with screening of Russian films, playing of audio and video records of Russian classical music and ballet performances, which will be given to the University by the Russian Centre of Culture in Kuala Lumpur.
