Ice hockey: Russians, Finns meet in junior world cup semi-finals

A junior world ice hockey championship is on in Canada. Finland's team routed the Slovak in quarter-finals yesterday, 6-0, to meet Russians in semi-finals next.

In another quarter-final game, the USA won Czechia, 4-3, to face Canada after the Canadian and Russian teams came on top, each in its group, right from the start to win their way to the semi-finals bypassing quarter-final games.

The Swiss beat Germans, 6-2, in the bids to rank 7th to 10th.

Three games are played today-Russia-Finland and Canada-USA in the semi-finals, and Sweden-Belarus in the 7th-10th group.
