Today, a group of the best street cleaners in the Russian capital, Moscow, are leaving for a two-week vacation in Cyprus. They are winners of the contest “Moscow Yard,” which was recently held in Moscow.
Chairman of the city commission, who organized the contest, Ivan Ishchenko says that the winners stay in a four-star hotel in Cyprus, and a special excursion program was developed especially for them.
In fact, actions of this kind are already traditional. Every year, the Moscow government organizes special contests for street cleaners and presents the winners with tours to exotic countries. A wonderful two-week tour to Cuba was organized for the 20 best street cleaners and last year. In previous years, winners of the unusual contest visited Thailand and Cyprus. The Moscow government planned to send the best street cleaners for a tour to Mexico last year, but the entry rules into Mexico were was toughened after the 9/11 tragedy, which is why Cuba was chosen as the destination for the winners of the contest.
