70-Year-Old Woman Too Shy to Stay Alive

An elderly resident of the village of Bolshiye Bereznyaky (Large Birch Woods) in the republic of Mordovia spent several hours in a desolate well. The old women of 70 years fell down in well 17 meters deep by accident. The lady was stuck in the well at the depth of seven meters, with a large metal box hanging above her head, threatening to kill her.

When firemen arrived to save the woman, they were surprised with her phenomenal obstinacy. She was about to be covered with sand at any moment. Yet, the woman made a point-blank refusal to take off her cotton-wool padded jacket that hampered raising the old woman up from the well. She said that she did not want other people to see her underwear. Relatives and friends had to spend a lot of time to convince the woman to strip, and she finally agreed to remove her clothing.

As soon as the firemen got the lady out of the well, its wooden props crushed, and the well was covered with sand. The woman didn’t even have the decency to say thank you to her saviors. She just put on her jacket and went home as if nothing happened.
