International Forum, exhibition and conference on pay and smart cards in Russia to take place in Moscow on December 2nd - 4th

The Fifth Moscow International Forum on plastic cards as well as the seventh international conference and "Russian Smart Cards - 2002" exhibition will take place in the Cosmos hotel on December 2nd - 4th, public relations department of the Russian Federal Agency for Governmental Communications and Information (FAPSI) under the Russian President told RIA Novosti on Thursday.

The PR department of the FAPSI said that major directions of the Russian state policy in Russian smart card creation and introduction will be discussed during the forum, conference and exhibition. Achievements of both Russian and foreign companies in this field as well as prospects to use them in setting up of different types of systems will be discussed during the event either.

The FAPSI has been actively participating in smart card development and introduction, spokesman for the FAPSI PR department said. At present, smart cards serial production has been launched. Smart cards are used as bank means of payment, electronic identity cards. They can be used to prevent unauthorized access to information in computers as well as key data carriers.

Visitors of the exhibition will have the chance to learn about the real potential of the exhibits.
