First CIS youth Delphi games to be held in Bryansk

On September 13th-18th, 2002, Bryansk (300 kilometres south-west of Moscow) will host the first youth Delphi games of the CIS member-countries.

The major organizer of these arts competitions is the National Delphi Council of Russia, with the famous theatre and cinema actor Vasily Lanovoy being the major juror. RIA Novosti will provide information support.

From the historical sources we know that god Apollo arranged musical contests, which gave rise to the great Delphi feast. The winner gained a laureate wreath from the Themina valley. The official date of the games foundation goes back to 582 B.C.

Modern games came to be held quite recently, the first Russian youth Delphi games took place in Saratov (Middle Volga region) in 1999. On December 1st-7th, 2000, Moscow hosted the first World Delphi games. The number of participants, accredited to the games, made 938 people aged 7-71 from 27 countries. The second World Youth Delphi Games "We remember..." were held in Smolensk (350 kilometres west of Moscow) on September 21st-26th, 2001.

For the first time young talents from all CIS member-countries will take part in the Delphi games in Bryansk. The High Arts Forum gives the young talents opportunities to compete in fifteen nominations: piano, violin, pop singing, folk singing, academic singing, pop dancing, folk dancing, circus, photography, poster, graffito, DJ, web design, folk and wind instruments.
