Leonardo exhibition in Moscow

An exhibition timed to coincide with the 550th birth anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci has just opened in Moscow's State Darwin Museum.

Entitled "Experiment's Great Disciple," the exhibition portrays the innovatory ideas advanced by the genius of Italian Renaissance, such as his /entirely new for his age/ suppositions concerning muscle antagonism and links between anatomy and physiology.

Not all of Leonardo's discoveries were recognized by his contemporaries. Running ahead of his time, the scientist designed the prototypes of submarines and tanks and mapped out parachutes and aircraft. Da Vinci's discoveries come complete with his diaries, which the scientist wrote from right to left to create a mirror image of an ordinary text.
