Russian press ministry officially warning Russkaya Sibir newspaper

The Russian press ministry has issued an official warning to the staff members of the Russkaya Sibir (Russian Siberia) newspaper, published in Novosibirsk, Western Siberia, by the National Sovereign Party of Russia, the ministry's press service reported on Wednesday.

The warning was issued following the analysis of the articles "Fascism under the Blue Star" and "Whole Russia Cannot Be Dispersed", published in the Russkaya Sibir in No.4-5, 2002.

Publishing the materials which kindle national intolerance and discord, the editors abused the freedom of mass information thus violating article 4 of the law "On Mass Media", the ministry pointed out.

Repeated violations of the articles' requirements followed by written warnings during a year may become a ground for the court to suspend the newspaper's activities, the ministry stressed.
