An exposition "The Dragon of the Century - the Chinese Art Exhibition" opened at the Central House of Artists in Moscow on Tuesday.
The exposition features more than 150 works both by famous modern Chinese artists and young painters. The oldest painter is 84 and the youngest is only 8 years old.
A common idea unites all the paintings: China, a country with the thousands-old history, deserves the right to be a venue of the summer Olympic Games in 2008.
Most pictures represent traditional Chinese painting - guohua. The visitors will be able to see pictures, portraying nature and animals, illustrations to classic literature, calligraphy and graphics. Several works represent different trends in modern Chinese engraving.
The exhibition will last till August 8.
