Arms will not be used when the seized refrigerator Tulun is detained

When detaining the seized Russian Tulun ship "the border guards will not use arms," deputy head of the Pacific regional Federal Frontier Service department Alexander Ivankov told a press conference in Vladivostok on Wednesday. According to him, the situation is fully controlled from the air by a Russian border plane. The Russian patrol vessel is going to intercept the ship.

Unfavourable weather conditions are now observed in the Sea of Japan - the wind is 25 metres a second. However, Ivankov pointed out, "the Pacific border guards once had to detain ships under even worse weather conditions." According to earlier reports, the seized refrigerator Tulun and Korf trawler which accompanied it are going to the Japanese port of Otaru.

If those who seized the ship plan to hide in Japan, they will fail, said Alexander Ivankov.
