Thai pilgrims torture a frog

Thousands of Thai people come to see a puddle, which is not far from Had Sai waterfalls in Pangnga province of the country. The pool gets so much attention because of its unusual shape. It looks like Buddha’s footstep.

Pilgrims believe that the water in the puddle relieves pain and brings good luck. This wonder pool is “guarded” by a frog. Pilgrims basically come to say their prayers, they bring fragrances, flowers and candles. Yet, there are some, who try to guess lucky lottery digits for the current month. They take some talcum powder and rub it in the frog’s skin, hoping to see some figures. Apparently, the poor frog is not going to stand such a torture for long.
