Russian boxers attain success in World Youth Championships

Eduard Abzalimov of Miass and Nikolai Bryzgalov of Chelyabinsk have won first place for Russia in the World Youth Boxing Championships by fighting their way to the semifinals of the contest, which is being held in the Cuban capital, Havana. In this way, the two sportsmen have earned themselves at least a bronze medal.

Incidentally, Cuba has a reputation as a lucky site for boxers from the South Urals. Six years ago in a similar tournament, also held in Havana, Chelyabinsk resident Vladimir Pletnev became World Champion, and Artyom Rykov of Miass and Andrei Kutaseyevich from Magnitogorsk won silver medals.
