Moscow to house Russian-German exhibition Court Hunting

Under the aegis from the Russian giant gas company Gazprom and the German Wintershall AG the exhibition Court Hunting will be held in the State History Museum in Moscow. The exhibition will open on September 26 and continue until February 20, 2003, the RIA correspondent reports.

It is for the first time that an exhibition of this scope and covering a large timeframe is held. It will showcase over 600 works of art from the collections of major museums in Russia and Germany. The XVIth-XXth-century rarities will unfold before visitors a picture of the world of hunting with its customs, attributes, fashions and esthetic values.

Among the most precious exhibits are superbly crafted weapons by Russian and Western European masters of the XVIIth-XXth centuries, portraits of Russian aristocrats and water colours of hunting episodes, as well as old books, documents, hunting trophies, costumes and tapestry, attributes of different kinds of hunting.

This exhibition project is a continuation of cultural exchange between the old partners in the gas business - Gazprom and Wintershall AG. Since 1993 these companies have implemented over ten joint cultural and exhibition actions, which have become landmarks in the history of culture of the countries.
