Monkeys back in Petersburg Zoo, feeling fine

The monkeys who were returned to the St. Petersburg zoo feel well, RIA Novosti learned from Elena Popova, scientific associate of the Leningrad Zoo's information department.

The animals have calmed down. They were excited all Wednesday night, and are now beginning to overcome the stress and are already taking food. Of course, the stress was strong, but since the animals were rapidly returned to their zoo, the excitement was reduced to the minimum, noted Popova.

The employees of the zoo hope that during the 24 hours the monkeys had spent in the street they did not catch cold. So far there was no temperature rises in any of the returned monkeys.

Twelve monkeys were stolen from the zoo on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. On Wednesday evening eleven monkeys were discovered in the city's Kirov district and brought back to the zoo. One animal is still missing.
