Russian scientist creates world's smallest book the size of poppy seed

A physicist from Novosibirsk, Vladimir Aniskin, known for his unique micro-miniatures, has created the world's smallest book. Aniskin's book is 88 times smaller than the one from the Guinness Book of Records that was created several years ago in Japan.

The pages of the world's smallest book can not be seen with the naked eye, They are made of extra thin plates of gold placed into a slice of a poppy seed. The book was made in the style of a wall calendar. One requires a special fine needle to turn over the pages.

It took the scientist eight years to create the nanobook. The book was made on the basis of thin  polyethyleneterephthalate film with microscopic orifices up to 10 microns. Vladimir Aniskin cut the pages of the book and strung them on tungsten wires only five microns in diameter. The text was written with the help of lithography.

The book is called "Lefty." It contains the names of the craftsmen, who shod a flea. There are three names for the time being: Syadristy, Aldunin and Aniskin.
