A congress of representatives of the Barmen's Association of Russia (B.A.R.) timed to its 10th anniversary is opening in Moscow on Tuesday. It is the only organisation in our country uniting waiters and barmen which is registered at the international level.
Representatives of 53 regions of Russia have been invited to the congress. The results of the activity of the B.A.R. over the past decade will be summed up and a joint programme of the Association and of the Moscow wine and cognac plant KiN for 2003 will be approved during the three says of the congress's work. The participants in the forum will discuss the plans of raising the professional level of barmen and waiters and the problems of the regional market of alcohol. The programme of the first day includes a surprise for pressmen - a seven-hour tasting marathon in a bus with music around the Moscow bars.
The 3rd Moscow competition of barmen will be held within the bounds of the congress. Exhibition performances of the best barmen will take place after the compulsory programme.
