Russians start saving on bars and restaurants. Russians prefer not to spend on bars and restaurants

Russia's Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) recorded a decline in the development and sales rates of restaurants, bars and cafes for the first time in four years. In November 2014, their income fell by 1.7% as compared to the same period of 2013.

In relation to the annual rate, the decline in the  turnover of public catering institutions made up 2.5%. The 2014 turnover in monetary terms totaled to 987 billion rubles (from January till November).

In general, one can say that revenues and attendance has dropped by no less than 10-15%. Restaurant prices have not grown yet, RBC reports.
