World marks Random Acts of Kindness Day
February 17 marks Random Acts of Kindness Day. The initiative was proposed by international charity organizations. The day is of global significance and is celebrated regardless of nationality, ethnicity or religious beliefs.
On this day, one should try to be kind and useful to everyone. If a person awaits gratitude for their kindness, it can not be considered genuine kindness. After all, good things must bring people pleasure without anything in return.
The day was coined to attract people's attention to other people's problems and encourage people to be responsive to others.
It is worth noting that Random Acts of Kindness Day is little known in Russia, but the country annually holds an all-Russian volunteer campaign called Spring Week of Kindness.
