A report from charity organization Oxfam said that economic inequality in the world led to the fact that the total fortune of world's richest 85 people is equal to the total fortune of 3.5 billion ordinary people.

It just so happens that one percent of households own 46 percent of world's wealth, the monetary equivalent of which is about 114 trillion dollars.

Oxfam claims that economic inequality was a result of the seizure of power by the economic elite that obtained opportunities to put pressure on governments to promote desired policies.

The survey conducted by the organization for the report showed that 67 percent of Britons believe that economic elite had too much influence on the political course of the United Kingdom.
