Russian man attacked in Thailand for not buying fake watch

In Thailand, a group of merchants attacked a Russian tourist, who refused to buy low-quality goods, Pattaya One reports.

The fight occurred on Monday night. The man nearly agreed to buy a watch that he liked - a fake of a popular brand - but the watch broke in his hands, as he was looking at it.

According to 30-year-old Andrei Protasov, one of the vendors told him that the watch was water resistant. The Russian decided to check it before buying the product, so he dropped the watch into a glass of water. The watch stopped working, and the man refused to buy it.

About 6-8 vendors attacked the Russian man trying to make him pay for the  damaged goods. The man received minor injuries, but refused to buy the fake watch. Having returned to his hotel, he called the police.

The locals and tourists, who witnessed the incident, confirmed to law enforcers that the Russian did not start the fight. It is not clear whether his offenders will face any punishment.
