Russian man wins contest for best design of Boston's subway map

The administration of the Boston subway announced the winner of the contest for the new design of the subway map. The winner is a resident of Moscow, an employee of Artemy Lebedev Art Studio, Mikhail Kvrivishvili.

The results of the competition were announced by the choice of the residents of Boston, including Cambridge, Quincy, and Newton. About six million people took part in the open vote.

Kvrivishvili shared his impressions on Facebook:

"I can hardly believe it still, but I won the competition for the new design of Boston's transport map! Around 40 percent of 17,000 votes were cast for my version of the map. I would like to thank everyone, who believed in me and supported me."

The Boston subway system is the sixth longest underground system in the United States, including the volume of passenger traffic.
