Special aircraft for Winter Olympics 2014 nearly ready

The design of the aircraft that was built to deliver the main symbol of the Olympic Games is being finished in Bratislava. Airbus 320 was repainted to become the aircraft with Olympic symbols on its fuselage. 

The body of the aircraft will display an official symbol of the upcoming Games - the Olympic patchwork blanket. Each patch of the blanket will stand for a specific region of Russia. Inside the aircraft, there will be special metal platforms erected, with lamps will be for the Olympic flame. 

The aircraft was completely redesigned in only ten days. The work was carried out by 12 people.

On October 6, the plane will fly to Athens for the Olympic flame. The next day, a relay will start in Russia: during for four months, the Olympic flame will visit 260 Russian cities. The flame will overcome the distance of 65,000 kilometers. A third of the distance will be covered on board the redesigned aircraft.
