In less than two weeks after the adoption of the controversial law on the legalization of gay marriage in France, a couple tied the country's first-ever gay knot.
The first gay wedding in France took place in the city of Montpellier. The wedding was between 40-year-old activist of the French LGBT movement Vincent Autin and 29-year-old civil servant Bruno Boileau. The mayor of Montpellier conducted the ceremony.
The controversial law was adopted on May18th. Thousands of supporters and opponents of gay marriage took to the streets of French cities.
