Over 30 bruises found on Maxim Kuzmin's body

According to forensic evidence, at the time of death, more than 30 bruises, abrasions and scratches were found on the body of the 3-year-old Maxim Kuzmin, who died in Texas, reports Odessa American.

"According to the report, the child had bruises, scratches and scars all over his body. Despite these injuries, the external examination of the body did not show the direct cause of the rupture of the mesenteric artery of the small intestine, which has become, according to the conclusions of the forensic medical examination, the cause of the boy's death", says the publication.

This newspaper article was based on a coroner's report about the results of the autopsy of Maxim, which came to the editorial board's disposal. Earlier, the Court of Texas recognized the child's death was an accident.

Maxim Kuzmin and his 2-year-old brother Kirill were adopted by the spouses Alan and Laura Shatto at the end of last year from an orphanage in the Pskov region. January 21, 2013, the boy died in a hospital of a Texas town of Odessa, a fact which became publicly known in our country only more than a month later.
