Nizhny Novgorod governor meets young scientists

The governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Valery Shantsev participated in the plenary meeting of the 17th session of Young Scientists from Nizhny Novgorod. During the meeting, the governor gave a lecture on the subject "The Future of Russia: Raw Materials or Innovative Development."

During the meeting, Valery Shantsev answered questions from participants, touched upon the subject of training and subsequent employment of graduates of engineering institutes for industrial enterprises.

According to the governor, the graduates are reluctant to use their education in their future professions. Most of them prefer to work in the commercial sector.

"We have 50,000 graduates each year - this is a large number. They are presumably natural specialties - mostly engineering and creative ones. We need to see how we employ our graduates," said the head of the region.

Valery Shantsev also stressed out the importance of meetings with young people, because such meetings raise most important issues, including scholarships for students and postgraduates. "Meeting with the youth is always very interesting. It includes debates. And such frank conversations are worth it," the governor said.
