Nizhny Novgorod to invest 7 billion rubles in infrastructure development

The government of the Nizhny Novgorod region is going to spend more than seven billion rubles this year for the implementation of the regional target program "Development of social and physical infrastructure as a basis for improving the quality of life in the Nizhny Novgorod region for 2012-2014."

In total, there will be 7.6 billion rubles allocated for the program. As much as  6.63 billion rubles of the amount will be assigned from the regional budget, 715.5 million rubles - from the federal budget and 183.4 million rubles - from municipal budgets.

In addition, it is supposed to allocate 550.8 million for the development of healthcare, 393.8 million for education, 146.9 million rubles for the development of culture and 1.28 billion rubles - for sports.

Agriculture will receive 730.1 million rubles. The construction of a metro bridge, a subway station, road approaches and roads will receive 2.98 billion rubles. As much as  583.64 million rubles is to be spent on innovative infrastructure, according to the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper.

Several days ago, Nizhny Novgorod hosted a roundtable discussion titled  "Building an integrated approach to the development of land in the Nizhny Novgorod region for housing construction."

The meeting was attended by the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Valery Shantsev, the head of Nizhny Novgorod, Oleg Sorokin, members of the regional government, representatives of the Federal Fund for Housing Development, representatives of construction companies, banks and mortgage companies.

The participants of the meeting discussed the project of overbuilding land adjoining Novinki village. At five sites, the square of which totals ​​267,4439 hectares, it is planned to build a new residential area complete with all necessary infrastructure for a comfortable living. The new residential area will be located just two kilometers from the border of Nizhny Novgorod. The project specifically says that the share of economy-class apartments will make up 75 percent of the total square of the construction. Oleg Sorokin said that the authorities were ready to do everything to facilitate the implementation of the project, the New Nizhny said.
