Woman survives after falling from 23rd story in Buenos Aires

43164.jpegAn young Argentinian woman threw herself from the 23rd story of a Buenos Aires hotel Monday, but she evidently survived the more than 300-foot plunge, witnesses said.

The woman landed in a sitting position on the roof of a taxi, crushing part of it and shattering the windshield.

She was taken to a nearby hospital where she's being operated on for broken hips and ribs and internal bleeding, according to KWTX.

After noticing that a police officer was looking up, Miguel, the driver of the taxi that she fell onto, said he got out of his vehicle just in time to escape the impact. The taxi's roof was crushed and its windscreen was shattered.

"I got out of the car a second before," he told the BBC. "If I had not got out, I would have been killed. ... The first thing I did was call my family. And then I just started to cry; it is really hard to see something like that," The Epoch Times reports.
