Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson officially separate

Actors Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson have made their break-up official by filing for divorce in Los Angeles. Court records show the actors each filed divorce paperwork on Thursday, citing irreconcilable differences. The pair announced the end of their marriage on Dec. 14, the same date they listed in court filings as their separation date.

In a statement they said: "It is with love and kindness we leave" the relationship, indicating that the split was amicable, Telegraph informs.

The couple wed in September 2008.

They said they had made the decision to end their marriage "after long and careful consideration on both our parts."

"While privacy isn't expected, its certainly appreciated," they added, Hellomagazine reports.
