Abu Dhabi to welcome 10,000 tourists a day to new Ferrari-themed amusement park

42157.jpegAbu Dhabi has always been considered the quieter emirate when compared to gaudy cousin Dubai. But all that could be set to change as the state prepares to welcome an estimated 10,000 tourists a day to the new Ferrari-themed amusement park - billed as the largest in the world.

Tourism chiefs hope the world's fastest rollercoaster - which travels at 149mph in 4.9 seconds, recreating the G-force felt in a Formula One car - and the more sedate life-size Scalextric-style track, will catapult it onto the world stage, Daily Mail says.

"The park just four years ago was a project, an idea, maybe even a too ambitious idea, is now a fantastic reality," said Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo. "Everyone at Ferrari is grateful to the people who have worked without rest for the last two years to make it happen."

Other attractions include Speed of Magic, a 4D film, and Made in Maranello, a virtual reality tour of Maranello. There is also a rollercoaster where people sit in Ferrari F430 pods and a recreation of the Ferrari motorhome from the Formula One paddock, Autocar informs.
