41745.jpegMusic legend Eddie Fisher is dead at the age of 82. Fisher died Wednesday at his home in Berkeley of complications from hip surgery, his daughter Tricia Leigh Fisher told the Associated Press.

He left behind four children - Carrie Fisher, Todd Fisher, Joely Fisher and Tricia Leigh Fisher. He is the ex-husband of Elizabeth Taylor, Connie Stevens and Debbie Reynolds.

Eddie Fisher was born on August 10, 1928 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His family gave him the nickname ‘Sonny Boy'. He discovered his talent for singing at a very young age and entered many amateur contests, and it is no surprise that more often than not he won.

Before he even reached the age of 18 he new exactly what he wanted to do with his life, at least professionally speaking.

Cleary this worked out for him because not only did he sell millions of records, but he also had his own television program, according to Right Celebrity.

Fisher would later acknowledge that he had been battling what would become a years-long addiction to drugs, including methamphetamine and cocaine.

In 1962, he suffered a breakdown after the collapse of his marriage to Taylor, who then married Richard Burton. Between 1950 and 1956, Fisher recorded dozens of songs that made the top 40 and four that reached No. 1 on the pop charts, Los Angeles Times says.
