Don't Miss Free Entry at U.S. Museums

Anyone who wanted to visit famous U.S. museums but could not afford it can do it this Saturday (09.26.09) as at more than 1,200 sites in the USA there is free entry.

Participants in Smithsonian magazine's fifth Museum Day include Cleveland's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum (which usually charges $22 for adults), New York's South Street Seaport Museum, the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

Smithsonian starts this event to celebrate culture and "remove any economic barrier that kept people from experiencing and enjoying museums in their communities," says Rosie Walker, a Smithsonian Media exec.

For free entry, present a Museum Day admission card printed at smithsonian.com/museumday. Each card — limited to one per household — grants two admissions at museums listed on the website.
