New stars dominate nominations for British music awards

Rock group Kaiser Chiefs and former army captain James Blunt dominated nominations Tuesday for Britain's prestigious music industry awards.

Blunt, 28, a former student of top public school Harrow, will challenge pop veteran &to=http://english.pravda.ru/fun/2002/02/02/26183.html' target=_blank>Robbie Williams for the title of best British male solo artist at February's Brit Awards.

The ex-soldier, who toured Kosovo with the British army, is also nominated in four other categories.

Kaiser Chiefs, a band from northern England named after a South African soccer team, were nominated for best British group, best album, and in three other categories.
