A man demanded Mel Gibson to pray with him

Movie icon Mel Gibson has won a restraining order against a man he claims asked the devoutly-Catholic star pray with him, court documents showed on Friday.

Transient Zack Sinclair, 34, allegedly trespassed on the star's estate and harassed him with a string of letters, according to letters attached to &to=http:// english.pravda.ru/science/19/95/381/12328_film.html ' target=_blank>Gibson's complaint, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on September 21.

The actor, who shook up the movie industry this year with his controversial biblical epic, The Passion of Christ, said the letters were "alarming, harassing and annoying.", News24.

According to the BBC News, Gibson, who lives in Florida, said Mr Sinclair interrupted his worship at chapel and "demanded that I pray with him" on 19 September. He was then escorted away by the film-maker's bodyguard.

"I continue to be extremely concerned for the safety of my family," Gibson said.

Mr Sinclair is currently in jail on $5,000 (£2,700) bail awaiting a court hearing on 6 October.

The Passion of the &to=http:// english.pravda.ru/main/18/90/364/13948_stigmata.html ' target=_blank>Christ is Gibson's controversial film depicting in graphic detail the last hours of Jesus.

Gibson co-wrote, directed, produced and financed the movie, a project he had wanted to complete for many years.
