Madonna's world tour: is Russia on the list?

The star, who has become as famous for her radical and changing fashion attire as for her music, unveiled the look when she announced The Re-invention Tour yesterday. But Australian audiences will have to be content with simply analysing the Material Girl's latest look as Australia is not on the The Re-invention Tour schedule. It kicks off in Los Angeles on May 24 and tours through the US, on to London and rounds up in Paris on September 1.

"Madonna has already started rehearsals for tour and she can't wait to get back on stage to recreate her songs from the earliest days of her career up until the present," said Madonna's manager Caresse Henry, reports Dailytelegraph.news.com.au

According to E-online.com she's an actor, author, wife and mother, Kabbalah devotee and, oh yeah, the Material Girl.

"There is no doubt that this tour will be the pinnacle of her long standing and well deserved reputation as one of the most exciting live performers of our time," manager Caresse Henry said in a statement.

The tour kicks off May 24 in Los Angeles and continues with dates across the U.S. and Europe, with a stop in Israel.

Fourteen performances are confirmed thus far. Madonna's Icon fan club members get first dibs on tickets before they are made available to the general populace, according to the star's official Website, www.madonna.com.

The underlying purpose of the tour is to support Madonna's CD, American Life, released in May 2003. The CD debuted at number one and has sold 630,000 copies in the United States to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan data. Madonna's 2001 tour sold out 47 venues and grossed $75 million.

According to an earlier report by Pravda.Ru Pop queen Madonna is about to release a new single from her new studio album, both entitled American Life. The video to the song has not been released yet, although it has already become rather controversial.
