Russian spaceship progress to deliver 2.5 tons of cargo to ISS

The launching of Soyuz booster with a transport spaceship Progress-M1-11 will be launched from the Russian spaceport Baikonur at 2.58 p.m., Moscow time, on Thursday. It will deliver more than 2.5 tons of various cargoes to the International Space Station.

RIA Novosti was told at the Flight Control Centre that the spaceship will deliver to the orbit equipment for the onboard systems of the Russian Zarya module, devices for determining the gas composition, bed-clothes, hygienic articles, parcels for the crew, medicines for the onboard medicine chest, a set of instruments for the repair of the running track and equipment for determining the microbiological composition of the water.

In addition, the spaceship will deliver to the ISS fuel for the orientation engines, water, containers with foodstuffs, scientific devices, two models for measuring the radiation level and new Orlan spacesuits.

The docking between Progress and the ISS in the automatic regime has been scheduled for January 31, at 4.20 p.m., Moscow time.
