"Frederic or Crime Boulevard" shown in Moscow

In the year of its 70th anniversary the popular St Petersburg Lensovet Theater continues to show its best performances in Moscow.

On Monday and Tuesday, January 19 and 20, in the Mossovet Theater, the Petersburg theater will show "Karenin, Anna and Vronsky" (based on Leo Tolstoy's well-known novel) and "Frederic or Crime Boulevard" by Eric Schmitt.

The "Frederic or Crime Boulevard" is a play about unique legendary Paris actor Frederic Lemaitre and is devoted to outstanding French actor of our days, Jean-Paul Belmondo.

"This is our common dream about Frederic Lemaitre whom Belmondo was dreaming to play and I, as the author, to express in words, because the sound of the name of this actor is for all of us, the theater people, embodies love for our profession," writes Schmitt in the preface to the play.

The premier of the play took place in 1998 in the Paris Marigny Theater. Thus, Belmondo's dream has come true. The version of the play, written by Schmitt and staged in the Lensovet Theater, artistically transforms the real historical events and has made it possible for producer Vladislav Pazi and artist Alla Kozhenkova to express their own views on one of the most interesting and best games invented by mankind, Theater.
