The Proton booster rocket with three navigation satellites Uragan-M of the GLONASS system is planned to be launched on Wednesday at 8.42 p.m., Moscow time from the Baikonur space port, the Russian Space Force reported.
The satellites of the Russian GLONASS system are designated to determine the precise location of ships, planes and special automated equipment. To determine the spatial coordinates and the time the signals should be received from four satellites simultaneously.
With the help of the GLONASS system it is possible to determine three coordinates of the consumer's location, the speed of its movement with time reference on the high accuracy scale of the Universal Time Coordinated (UTC). The satellites are being controlled from Russia in an automated mode.
The Proton booster rocket was placed at the starting position last Saturday.
