The preparations for the launch of the Russian light-class space carrier Rokot with Japanese satellite Service-1 are almost over at the Plesetsk launching site /Arkhangelsk region - Russia's north/. The launch is scheduled for October 29th from the first on-ground launching mount, which was previously used for launches of Kosmos-3M space vehicles, the press-service of the Space Army disclosed to RIA Novosti.
Today the launching mount underwent the necessary pre-launching testing works and yesterday the staff of the launching site filled the tanks of the first and second stages of the carrier with fuel.
The program of the Rokot space vehicles launches successfully passed the ecological expertise, conducted by experts from environment protection organisations of the Arkhangelsk region, and received the necessary confirmations, concerning its further implementation on the Plesetsk launching site without any harm for the environment, the press-service of the Space Army reported.
