Pierre Cardin's theater in Moscow

L'Espace Pierre Cardin, the theater of the famous French couturier, will tour Moscow for the first time on October 20-23. The performances will be on in the Mayakovsky Theater.

Cardin purchased this Paris theater in 1970. Superstars Marlene Dietrich, Marina Vlady, Marcel Marceau, Gerard Depardieu, etc. performed in this theater. Maya Plisetskaya and the Lenkom Theater's company had the honor to act there.

Some years ago a new stage in the life of L'Espace Pierre Cardin began. The theater started producing music performances. Pierre Cardin not only designs costumes for them but also acts as art director. His theater has already successfully toured the USA, Japan, China and Italy. After Moscow performances the theater will go to the USA again.

Two performances will be shown in Moscow. The first one is "Tristan and Isolt". In the 19th century Richard Wagner composed an opera after this romantic love story. Men from the Lovzar dance ensemble (Chechnya) were invited to perform duel-dances in "Tristan and Isolt".

The second performance is "Dali's Follies". According to Pierre Cardin, this is his tribute to the great artist, a friend of his. This musical-theatrical show created after Dali's texts features slides of the artist's pictures.
