Mstislav Rostropovich to conduct Vienna Orchestra

Mstislav Rostropovich again conducts the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the culture department of the Austrian capital said.

On Saturday the Golden Hall of the famous Musikverein will host a concert by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Mstislav Rostropovich. The program includes works by Russian composers Pyotr Tchaikovsky and Dmitry Shostakovich.

Russian First Deputy Foreign Minister Eleonora Mitrofanova, currently on a routine trip to Austria, will attend the concert.

Yesterday Mitrofanova visited the Vienna State Opera, the new Museum Quarter and the exhibition of Albrecht Durer's works in the newly opened Albertina museum.
