World exhibition-forum of telecommunications and information technologies opens in Geneva

On Saturday, the opening ceremony of the ITU TELECOM World 2003 exhibition, the largest event in life of the global telecommunications community, is held in Geneva.

This year, the forum will be conducted from October 12 to October 18. 908 companies, enterprises and organizations from various countries will present their products and services at the largest exhibition complex in Geneva - Palexpo. The expected number of visitors is 115,000 people.

Russia is traditionally an active participant of the exhibition. Among 38 Russian participants are Svyazinvest, interregional communication companies, Rostelecom, Academician Reshetnikov association of applied mechanics, Pochta Rossii (Russian Post), leading scientific research and educational organizations in the sphere of telecommunications, and the largest manufacturers of telecommunications equipment.

The focus of attention at the Russian exhibition stand will be products and services in the sphere of information and telecommunications technologies developed and implemented in the context of the federal target program Electronic Russia.

On Monday, October 13, in the context of the National Day of Russia, RF Communications Minister Leonid Reiman will hold a press conference. The agenda also includes an extensive demonstration of achievements of the Russian telecommunications industry and a large cultural program.
