Russian Ballet Theatre to tour Indonesia

The Russian Ballet State Theatre (Moscow) is touring Indonesia. Indonesian President Megawati Sukarnoputri, cabinet members and parliamentarians are expected to attend the opening gala-concert on September 11.

The company led by the glorious Russian dancer Vyacheslav Gordeyev will perform Peter Tchaikovsky's ballet "The Swan Lake" in Jakarta on September 12-13 four times. Tickets to all the performances have been already sold out, the theatre's organising committee told RIA Novosti.

Last Time the theatre toured Indonesia in 1992. The present tour is a charity event sponsored by the Indonesian Foundation of Cardiologists. Money gained from the performances will be spent to treat Indonesians who suffer from grave heart diseases.
